Bringing My Characters to Life

The Hungry Tummies

A Tribute to Julia Hannan & David Case of PMI Production

I would like to give a special thank you to Julia Hannan of PMI Production and all the people that were involved in bringing the Hungry Tummies to life. She assembled a talented and truly impressive group of people. If it weren’t for Julia, the Hungry Tummies would still be in my sketch book; but with her partnership, my characters have come to life on the screen in front of me.

I met Julia back in 2014 when we worked on a TV campaign for the Pittsburgh Airport. She was, and remains, a real pleasure to work with thanks to her creativity, hardworking attitude, and attention to details.

I also had the pleasure of meeting David Case, owner of PMI, who is truly a wonderful person. After overseeing a tremendously successfully and inspiring shoot, he even gave me a ride to the airport. Who ever heard of an owner of a production company giving the art director a ride to the airport?

When I was laid off, Julia and David remained friends: reviewing my stories, trying to get them in front of the right people, and offering words of advice and encouragement.

Today I am proud to call them partners and friends in my work bringing the Hungry Tummies to life. With their investment of time and creativity, Hioki Creations is taking an important step forward in its work to share timely and engaging hunger-relief educational content with children far and wide.

A heartfelt thank you to Julia and David for years of friendship, and for allowing the mission of my beloved sister Joyce to continue. I’m forever grateful to you, and I am full of excitement for the young minds that will be shaped through our collaboration. I truly believe with the addition of our upcoming diversity, inclusion, and anti-bullying production shoot, we are taking steps to create a better, more loving world.
