Mel created the Hungry Tummies and wrote the song to call attention to hunger and encourage people to do their fair share. He believes if everyone did their fair share, we could solve hunger permanently. To continue the mission, Mel created an additional cast of characters and wrote, The Adventures of the Hungry Tummies.
